DEADLINE EXTENDED

The deadline for submitting proposals for Student or Young Professional Presentations at the 2009 MAP Student Conference has been extended to Thursday, November 20.

All you need to submit is a 50-word abstract of what you would like to present. Presenting at the Conference--being held here at EMU--is a really great resume builder.

See the post below for links to submit proposals and see the full presentation guidelines.

Plant Some Trees With EMU GREEN and PLACE

Meet with students from GREEN--the environmental club at EMU--and PLACE this Saturday, November 15, to plant some trees in Detroit.

We will be meeting at the Student Center at 8:00 AM and carpooling to Delores Bennett Park at 444 Smith St., to plant 65 street trees on Chandler between Oakland and Woodward. Planting will be done by the Greening of Detroit in partnership with the City of Detroit's Next Initiative and North End Block Club Association. They need 100 volunteers, so we hope you come and help out!

If it's more convenient, you can simply meet us at 444 Smith St. at 9 AM.

If you're interested, please RSVP to Dave Waligora at davidwaligora@gmail.com or Adam Cook at acook10@emich.edu.

PLACE T-Shirts For Sale!

Check it out! Today I'm wearing one of the new Planning Program T-shirts, designed by student Lauren Carlson and being distributed through PLACE. You can have one, too. They are $15, and all sizes are currently available. You can buy them from me; they're available in my office.
Also, we thought it would be cool to have a "Wear your Planning T-shirt" Day next Tuesday, Nov. 11. We need to let those freshmen and sophomores see them before they register for Winter classes. If we all wore them on the same day, maybe we'd get some notice. (Or, of course, you can wear yours every day if you wish, or if you haven't done your laundry in a long time.)
We'll sell them until they run out. All profits go to PLACE.
