Morse Theatre Chicago Update

Hey everyone,

On my recent trip to Chicago my friend showed me an article she edited for her school paper at Loyola... it happened to be about the now completed Morse Theatre we all visited in March.

here is the link to the article

After visiting I must say it has come a long way since we were walking around its dirt floor. The place is incredible, very slick and happenin'. Next time anyone is in Chicago I would recommend stopping by to check it out.

Graduate Research Fair

Planning Grad Students,

I urge you to consider presenting at this year's Graduate Research Fair on March 23, 2009. There are opportunities for both session and poster presentations. You do NOT need to prepare a separate paper or poster, but use one you already have given or are preparing for a Winter class.
This is a great opportunity for you to hone your presentation skills and to gain professional experience before a friendly audience. Any of your EMU faculty profs. can advise and/or sponsor you. Let me know if you have any questions. Please consider this opportunity.

Detroit Walking Tour

On December 30th at 4pm, Cityscape Detroit is hosting a walking tour at inside Detroit, 1253 Woodward avenue. I believe Jeannette Pierce will be speaking. She is really enthusiatic about social, recreational and architectual resources the city has to offer-and makes a living talking about it. Should be interesting. Tanya Stephens is the contact person at Cityscape.

The Wayne State Urban Planning Student Organization (WSSUP) has invited all Eastern Michigan urban planning students to its annual Holiday Potluck on Thursday, December 18th.

The potluck begins at 7:00 PM at the historic St. Albertus Church Rectory at 4231 St. Aubin in Detroit.
